Julia A. Pierson was the 23rd Director of the United States Secret Service from 2013-2014. During her 30-year career, Director Pierson led major improvements in agency operations by leading change and developing and deploying state-of-the-art technology solutions designed to mitigate emerging threats, enhance critical information sharing, support and improve operational effectiveness, and streamline organizational business processes for 7,000 Special Agents, Uniformed Division Officers, and technical, professional, and administrative personnel serving around the world. 

Following her Secret Service career, Ms. Pierson is the CEO of Secure23, a global security and management consulting company supporting NextGen Public Safety technology for safer communities. Ms. Pierson collaborates with national and international policing, military and intelligence experts to provide innovative and accessible technology to communities.   

Ms. Pierson served as a Research Fellow, for the Center for Mass Violence Response Studies, within the National Police Foundation, and has provided presentations on targeted violence, and terrorism trends and tactics, for the Academy for Critical Incident Analysis, John Jay College, and the National Preparedness Leadership Initiative, Harvard University.  Ms. Pierson currently serves as Board Chairman for the Safe Community Initiative, and Board member for Crime Stoppers USA.
